While maturing in my faith, being refined in the fire while God’s hand holds me over the flame I’m being tested. With every breath I take I’m being tested in my want for growth. However it seems with every inhale of oxygen God’s love and presence in my life takes my breath away. His care and concern for little things never cease to amaze me. The small things, which seem so insignificant even to me are not so concerning Him.
As I made my way through another ordinary day, planning to post more of my old clothing on Ebay for some kind of income I started to make a pile of everything I needed to complete that task. I gathered the articles of clothing I was to sell, I grabbed my paper and pen, and the all important cup of coffee. I went to the drawer to retrieve my measuring tape to provide all potential buyers every piece of information needed in order to purchase the clothing in confidence and couldn’t find it. I calmly searched the next logical place it would be with no luck. I then started to frantically tear apart the house to find this missing piece to help the progress of a once hopeful productive day. I still couldn’t find it. I began to get frustrated, frustrated to the point of throwing up my hands in defeat and calling it a day. I wanted so badly to curl up in bed again and have a good ol’ unemployment middle of the day movie fest.
I then had my pre-wow moment. I remembered a story the pastor’s wife had told us about a missing bracelet in our prayer class. I am taking this prayer class to know the proper way to speak to God. She told us how God is interested in the little things and that He will answer anything if we only ask Him. She told us how she lost her bracelet on vacation. She first praised God for who He is and asked Him to show her where the bracelet was as she knew He knew the location. They had been sightseeing all day and she didn’t know where to begin to look. She found the bracelet as the Holy Spirit brought a store she had visited earlier in the day to her memory.
I thought surely God knows where the measuring tape is, I don’t but He sees all. I stopped and fought the urges of the oh so appealing pity party and begin praying. I praised God and began to worship Him. I then started to pray. “Please Lord show me where the tape is, I know you know ALL, please guide my hands or jog my memory, in Jesus name AMEN!”
I went back out to the living room, walked toward the couch, lifted up the cushion, dug deep inside and there it was….I found the measuring tape! It was almost as if I had a blindfold on and was being guided by the voice of the Holy Spirit.
WOW! A reaction to a something, a something that could have been frustratingly the end of a very productive day, a something that was not too small for God, and a something that with a little faith He made into a wow moment.

It is so exciting to ask God to show you something, we consider small, we pray and blam...a light bulb goes on and we are led right to it. We share some of the same WOW moments. :)
I wonder if it'd be better to "hook" your readers by moving the story to the beginning, and then providing the lesson at the end.
Very interesting story, especially in these difficult times. I hope it will inspire others in similar circumstances.
