My thoughts goes running wild
Thinking back into the past
When I was just a child
Remembering the summer
When I turned twelve years old
A week I stayed with grandma
And watched her life unfold
She gave me for my birthday
A gift that made me grin
A gift that I still cherish
A butterfly hair pen
Oh how grandma work that year
Was busy every day
Washing, ironing people’s clothes
For very little pay
Back then she had a washer
Still hung those clothes outside
When they all were finally dry
She’d bring them all inside
That is where I got to help
I sprinkled down those clothes
Then I wrapped them really tight
And laid them all in rows
Then grandma would start ironing
She’d iron all day long
Never did she once complain
My grandma was so strong
Her day was still not finished
There’s dinner still to cook
And after eating dinner
She read from the Good Book
Grandma taught me many things
That year I went and stayed
I really, really miss her
Since grandma went away
I know she’s home in heaven
Tonight she’s in my mind
And o’ what I remember is
How grandma was so kind
In Loving Memory of
Grandma Marvel

This was very visual, and I enjoyed reading it.
