People scurried about wondering what we had done
Satan thought he could fight us with one little spark
But God heard all our prayers when the day got too dark
And now several years later we tend to forget
Of the lives that were lost and the minds of regret
Such heroes we have - would you have helped someone
On that day that the smoke plume took over the sun
Our fighters were busy when most of the world
Sat back and we watched as the smoke went unfurled
The water they had could not go up as high
As it needed to get the fire high in the sky
Yet many were saved although many were lost
And I pray the ones lost knew the sign of the cross
Each year on this day we remember the folks
Those who died and who lived this was definitely no hoax
As America had suffered from a people whose boss
Was a man of no care for a life or a loss
It was water that helped us to put out the fires
For without it all lives in the tower would expire
So the next glass you pick up remember that day
And be proud of these fighters though you don’t know their names
