I am tired of “me.” God's Word announces that “in Christ, all things are new,” and thankfully it is “not I who live but Christ who lives in me.” The whole point is: My time is up. LORD Jesus, it's Your turn. I would say with John the Baptist – I must decrease so that You may increase. Now that God has begun it should mean:
The end of my agenda: Jesus is in charge of my time, and I would do well to stay on the same page with Him.
The end of my goals. Time to totally reroute the direction of my life, rather, let Jesus do the driving.
The end of my appetites: Thank You, Holy Spirit, for self-control when the ice cream woos me at midnight.
The end of my comfort: A faithful servant does not hesitate to put his Master's wishes ahead of his own needs.
The end of my self-preoccupation: God has not blessed me with new life to indulge in self-promotion, self-realization or self-protection
The end of my discontent: It's time to be about the Father's business in the garden He has planted me in.
The end of my strength: My life is like the surgeon's glove – useless without His hand. That glove all by itself has no idea what an appendix is or what to do with it.
The end of my self-promotion: It's not about me, it's about being a signpost pointing to the Lord Jesus Christ.
And I remember that every end is partner with a new beginning.
