THAT JOYOUS FEELING



There is a natural joy and a spiritual joy. The natural joy is the highly happy feeling of happiness you feel when you experience a joyous occasion like your intended accepts your wedding proposal. Your favourite football team was at the middle of the league, and after training and changing tactics, they begin to score goals that take them to the top of the football league. You get a record contract that makes you feel that all that hard work and sacrifices you and your group did was worth it and now you are on your way to stardom. You and your spouse have tried so hard to have children and after so many years you are finally expecting a baby or babies! You are in debt and your house is going to be repossessed by the bank and then you win the lottery! This joy, however wonderful it feels and it is wonderful to feel natural joy, it is only temporary and lasts for a short time because with it comes responsibility to look after those things and care for them. Trials also come with them as well so with these blessings you need to keep appreciating them when the joy goes.



The spiritual Joy is the second mentioned fruit of the Spirit, in the bible. This joy is given to the saints of God as a taste of things to come in heaven. It is a virtue that comes from the Spirit of God when our heart is open to him and accept his Spirit to dwell within our soul. This joy not only a feeling of deep happiness when you feel the presence of God, but it has a remaining strength that carries you through your time of adversity. The joy of the Lord being your strength dwelling inside of you because there is nothing that is stronger than the strength of the Lord to withstand the whiles of the enemy of our soul. Sometimes the joy of the Lord can make you feel ecstatically happy during the face of adversity. How can this be, when the world says you should be sad when something goes wrong or you are disappointed? Some of us lead busy lives and can often be swamped with the demands of life, but it is possible to make that time for God to fill your life with his glory. For those of you who are hungry and thirsty for God, you will try to make a way to hear his Word from your iPad or phone, there is YouTube, God Tube, a worship album in your home or in your car. For those of you who multitask, you can play these things whilst you are working or doing housework and chores until you find alone time to read his word and you can pray anytime quietly or within your heart if your days are filled with long hours at work.



When you are filled with the joy of the Lord, nothing can harm you because it works in the opposite way that sadness works. Joy attracts more joy and you will attract people that want to be around you because in some cases you have something that they want and the life that you are living in God has the solution to their problems.

I think you had many good points in your entry, but I thought it needed a better hook in the beginning.

I like this line: "It is a virtue that comes from the Spirit of God when our heart is open to him and accept his Spirit to dwell within our soul."

When we give ourselves in obedience to Jesus command and are baptized for the forgiveness of our sin we are given the gift of the Holy Spirit and he can work within us in His special ways. (Acts 2:38)
