He heard my cry
I hid not my weaknesses
Neither my faults
For they are ever before me
I do not want to stumble
Neither fall
But my heart was sick with grief
Years of toiling
Slaves to hard hearts
Why do they resist the Holy Spirit?
I continued my lament before the Lord
My distress was very great indeed
Groans uttered
No words
Burdens
Too great for my soul
Yet
I hid not back my tears before Him
Neither my own failures
For the enemy compounded my heart against me
'I cannot do this again LORD!'
He knew
My familiar plight of old
No words were needed
He knew me before I was conceived
He understood from the foundation of the earth
For the Lord's sufferings cannot be compared to mine
Yet
He poured His compassion
His mercies upon me
He lifted up my weak and feable knees
Strength poured
From Him
For He is more than able
Strength to continue
Strength to love
Strength to forgive
Strength to walk another day
Not mine own will Lord
But in Him who is able
In Him who died and rose again
Nothing is too hard
For it is written
'We are more than conquerors'
The present sufferings do not compare to the glory that shall be revealed
Yet
To Him whose eyes see everything
To Him who hears the cries of his children
True and Faithful is His Name
For where can I go from His Spirit?
Where can I flee?
He is ever before me
He is ever beside me
For today
He changed not
Neither will He ever change
My burdens now
No more
The future in Him secure
Truly Jesus is my Lord
My Saviour
Though the trials continue
In Him I must remain
For it is written
'I am the True Vine
Without Me you can
Do nothing'

Well express anguish. Well express peace through the hope given in God's word.
Keep your heart in heaven and your eyes in his word.
This piece was so expressive at the wide range of emotions we go through when we lament.
