Oh the days when she played around with her father's camera. At the time she thought every photo she took was beautiful and that nothing could match the beauty she captured in each of them. But now, she noticed the blurry images and poor quality displayed through many of them. The quality of those photos seemed so good then, but if they are compared to the images that are being produced today, it is like an entire new world opened up.
As she took her eyes off the photos for a moment, the words of 1 Corinthians 13:11-12 caught her attention, “When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.”
There was something about these words that tucked at Candy's heart and it just would not let go. She wondered about the importance thereof.
“God, what is it You are trying to tell me?”
She knew God was trying to show her something but she just could not get her head around it¯A problem she experienced a lot lately.
She has heard the pastor explained these words before that as humans we see in part, but in Christ we are able to see clear, but somehow she just knew that in that moment watching the sun awakening, there was more to be discovered.
As she returned to her memory box, it felt like the answer lied in the resolution of the hundreds of photos telling the story of her life. Her time was almost up before she had to get ready when the revelation came...
The lens through which she used to take her pictures will have an enormous impact on how she sees things and the quality of the images that will be created. When she looks at life through her own knowledge, she will get a worldly perspective. A picture which may be blurry at times, but when she chooses to take off her own lenses, and put on the lenses of wisdom and knowledge through Christ, she will get picture with a resolution higher than any she can produce through her own knowledge.
Candy’s understanding suddenly hit home…the more we see the world like God through the saving grace of the Cross, the higher our resolution would become of everything we see around us.
