2 Pet. 1: 5-7 “But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge, self-control, to self- control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love”.
The Almighty God cooks the best Stew.
By faith He saves us by the gift of His Son;
He does not desire that we remain in the pew,
Rather ensures believers are processed strong.
And perhaps be counted among the few,
Preserved remnants for the throne.
Jehovah places the Pot on His Fire;
The first essential ingredient is virtue.
Believers are often re-fired not to tire;
On His children He places much value;
Even in our imperfection we are hired.
From His reservoir He adds Knowledge;
A vital ingredient that banishes ignorance,
The Stew heats up with steam at the pot’s edge;
The Aroma reaching out in joyful instance,
To make us the best is His loyal pledge.
Self-control steers up among the Lords choice;
This fruit of the spirit is essential spice,
“Yes I need you in the stew”, sounds His voice.
The Christian just must pay the price;
Much higher than the cost of a Rolls –Royce.
Now the stew is approaching the boiling point;
But the great cook must make it perfectly tasty;
Perseverance is in the vessel He must anoint.
Sometimes with short cuts we become hasty,
Nevertheless it is not our portion to disappoint.
With these ingredients the stew must sure be ‘godly’
Yet godliness without kindness is incomplete;
So the great cook adds brotherly kindness quickly,
And He smiles as the aroma reaches the peek;
Yet the greatest spice must be added wholly.
“Love is the greatest” for I am Love personified!
The perfect ingredient must complete the perfect Stew;
He smiles heartily the Stew feels the heat, dignified;
The perfect stew finished to produce the perfect you;
“The process is worth it” said I AM fully satisfied.
