All through scripture there are references to giving. Giving is part of the very essence of God. He created this world and gave this world for us to have dominion over. He gave the first man, Adam , life by breathing it into his body after creating him. He gave Adam Eve because he knew he would need someone to be his helper and companion. God gave woman and man the ability to reproduce and through their reproduction is one of the greatest gifts from God, children. God gave Moses to the Israelites to save them from the hands of their oppressors because of the promises he gave their forefathers Abraham, Jacob, and Isaac. God gave the Israelites the Promised Land. God gave us the gift of laughter, the ability to smile and to enjoy life.
The greatest gift of all that He has given to us is His Son Jesus Christ God has setup the frame work of giving for us to follow. His very character is one of giving. When we give our lives to Him through Christ as we are encouraged to do throughout scriptures in the bible we can expect something in return. As believers, we can expect God's grace to abound over us as we set out to do what He has called us to do. We can expect His equipping through the power of His Holy Spirit to complete our work or individual ministries, which is the very reason for our existence. We can also anticipate our earthly needs and good temporal gifts while we are here. Jesus's life here on earth was lived in a way that we can emanate so we can expect the blessings of God if we follow His plans for our lives. He did not promise us instant gratification but He did promise us that through perseverance in Him we will obtain the ultimate reward. The blessed hope and assurance that we can truly expect without a doubt, eternal life with Him in His Kingdom.
