Topic: 24 Hours (01/27/11)
As a young woman I had a great determination to save the world. I wasn’t sure how, just yet, but the desire was burning inside. My loving father advised that perhaps I might want to narrow my vision, and focus on those in my daily world, at least to start.

Along my journey I’ve enjoyed preaching, teaching, music ministry, and sharing my faith one-on-one. As I grow older I realize the wisdom of looking for moments in my small corner of the world to bring joy and cheer to others.

If I challenge myself to live each day, each twenty-four hour period, as God’s hands, and feet, and lips, to see the opportunities He brings my way I can bring infinite comfort to a hurting world. The smile and kind greeting given to a tired sales clerk, a friendly chat with a lonely neighbor, words of encouragement to a struggling coworker, or a simple note to say I’m praying for a friend battling cancer – each in it’s own right is but a moment in time, yet each can bring ease to a burden another might bear.

And one day when I lay my head down for a final time, may my Lord smile and say, “Well done, good and faithful servant. . . . Come and share your master’s happiness!” Matthew 25:23 NIV

I like this! It is so easy to become discouraged when looking at the world as a whole. We tend to forget that if we allow the Lord to pour us out right where we are, that small river of Love flows into this ailing world.

thank you for this it is so true and relevant to the theme. maybe now you have the basics you could try to write a little more and maybe put in some examples from your own experience.

To change the world we need to be the change we want in the world was the advice of a very wise man. Your father seemed to understand Gandhi's message well. Nice message.
