Topic: Hotel/Motel (09/12/05)
My Choice

When I think of a hotel, it is of a luxuriously elegant place with people hurrying here and there to fulfill your every whim. Someone parks your car, carries your luggage, and shows you to your room. The room is very plush and so is the bathroom, with every amenity you can think of there. Usually, there is food and drink and maybe some flowers (depending upon your importance). Anything you might desire, no matter how ridicules it may sound to someone else, you will get what you want, very quickly I might add.

Now a motel, on the other hand, is not quite as plush. You park your own car, carry your own bags and find your own room. The room will be clean and comfortable, but definitely not plush. Soap and shampoo are the only amenities you’ll find in the bathroom. There is no room service, mainly because there is no restaurant there, you must go out and eat. They may have a pool and a soda machine and a continental breakfast, but otherwise, it’s out to eat you go.
It’s a nice place to rest and relax, but not fancy.

My choice, when traveling is a motel. I like to know where my car is and also my bags. Finding my own room is not a problem either. As long as it’s clean and quiet, I’m happy.
I am comfortable and that means I can rest and relax. Now if you feel more comfortable in a hotel, that’s fine too. We are each different, so enjoy what makes you happy.

Life is a lot like hotels and motels in the choices we make. Some people like to have a grand house with a landscaped lawn. The best of cars, and many of them. The latest fashion and they like being seen in the best places. They may even have a servant or two. Their children will probably go to a private school.

Now, the motel people live life a little simpler. The house may be big, but not grand. It’s still a nice house, looks good and is clean. The yard is used by children and pets alike, and it shows. They do their own mowing and repairs, if able. The car is usually a few years old and if there is more than one, they are for sure used cars with a few years on them. They wear nice clothes, but mostly Wal-Mart brands. They and their children do the house and yard work and the children go to public school.

Which style of life you have depends on you. What you like and the amount of money you make. If you like the hotel life and have a job to finance it, that will most likely be your choice. If you like a simpler life, the motel style would fit you better. It all comes down to what you choose.

There's a lot to be said for the simple life, isn't there? You expressed yourself very eloquently. Be careful of sentence fragments and run-on sentences, and you'll have a more polished piece.
