Is destined not to be
A tiny life given back to God
One silent night piercing our hearts
Fearfully and wonderfully made in a womb of love
Comes number two destined not to live outside the womb
This tiny life of our prayers, love and dreams
Will not be held by us but by God above
Try again the Doctors say in your womb of love
Longer this time our little one
Stayed inside of me, child of our dreams
Yet once again number three was destined not to be
Tears and sadness leave such a hole
Friends around me hold their babies close
They thank God for their little blessings
Emptied handed again we stand as our tiny unborn life goes to God
Never again we've decided we won’t try
We have three children resting in heaven without us
That’s enough, I am to fearful to try
But once again a little visitor comes to me
Fourteen weeks our fearful hearts wait.
Finally we can let the good news out
We’ve made it past the hurdle or so we thought
And than number four graces heavens door.
Adoption comes the way is clear, we will try
Fearful we file all the papers hoping to be blest
We want to hold a child to be a parent to a daughter or son
But God had another plan
This time I was ready. I knew the medicines
I had done my homework I took the bull by the horn
This time by the grace of God this baby would be born
Little precious one in our arms Given to our care, your number one
I have a friend who like me lost four little ones
From Japan will come her little one. Before the next year is done.
In your womb or heart is love
Given to us by God above
Many people struggle in our world
Fearful to try fearing for their little ones
Fearing their wounded hearts cannot take any more
Do you know which God has for you, your blood or heart?
A child rather your own blood or chosen by your heart
Is always a part of your life forever.
In my family there are both, there is no difference
Each child now grown is one of us forever.
What’s funny we see resemblances in the adopted ones
We forget they are not our blood
They are children of our hearts from us never apart.
