The sleet it turned the ground to mud and overflowed the gullies,
The sky it raged with fury and howled with anguished torment,
The sky it split and poured forth rain those clouds no longer dormant,
And through the rain and frosted lanes a figure stood dispelled,
The streets were all but empty the other folk repelled,
But still she stood unmoving while hell raged all around her,
Staring out through insipid eyes with never once a stir,
Cold blood stood frozen across her face,
She stood there lost; so out of place,
She stood there out, out in the cold as the hours trickled on,
And the wind and sleet devoured her; by morning she was gone,
She lay in death; her icy grave, consumed her frail from,
For with the wind her life was snatched in that bitter storm,
But as she lay in blackness, a smile on her face,
Her face for once was peaceful, content and full of grace,
For though the storm had raged its anger all around her,
She had stood unmoving, face turned with reverent awe,
She called to you oh lord our God; she yelled your loving name,
She screamed her endless cry into the harsh relentless rain,
Her silent cry was snatched away; the sound torn from her throat,
But still she screamed her voice to shot; alone without a coat,
And the people turned their righteous backs, ashamed to hear her call,
Not caring if she froze to death; just another doomed to fall,
But Lord you reached and took her up and held her in your arms,
You held her tight and pulled her close to you, with gracious palms,
For as she called, you could see her different from above,
You saw her beauty and endless worth through your mighty love,
And oh before; a wondrous vision did you behold,
She radiated clean and pure a beacon in the cold,
Her beauty was to none compare as she knelt their in the snow,
Tears in her eyes, blood on her face, drenched from head to toe,
For though her life was nothing much and stained with endless sin,
Though her works were raged rags, tainted with blood and grim,
You saw her smiling perfect face,
Through the mirror of your grace.
