Sharina Smith is senior director of marketing and communications at Southwest Baptist University. An author and poet, her writing has appeared in "Sisters in the Lord Magazine", "Faith Writers Magazine", "Hers Women’s Magazine", "Thirty-Seven Cents", and numerous online publications. Her book, "Shout for Joy: poems from the journey", chronicles her spiritual journey. Smith is also the Executive Editor of SBU Life newsmagazine.
Smith graduated from Bryn Mawr College in 1986 with a B.A. degree in English Literature. In 1993, she earned her M.S. degree in Administration (with a concentration in Leadership for Women) from the West Chester University of Pennsylvania School of Business and Public Affairs, where she was named Outstanding Graduate. She is currently pursuing an MBA at SBU.
Smith and her husband, Chuck, have a combined family of four children and are members of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Springfield, where Smith sings in the women’s ensemble, Hearts for Him, as a soloist, and in the Celebration Worship choir.
