Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him". (Proverbs 26:12)
A person "wise in his own eyes" is blinded by his ego, and is unteachable. Having a teachable spirit is a great asset in life. According to other proverbs a fool has little hope, yet the proud man has even less. It is good to be wise, but with wisdom that is from God. That wisdom is characterized by humility. Pride always invites a fall. Be wise, be humble.
