What is the real issue when it comes to prayer being taken out of schools? Did it somehow stop some massive revival that was spreading throughout our school systems? Did we have scores of our youth evangelizing in the halls and locker rooms of academia? Or was it the case that there really wasn’t much prayer going on from our youth already? Truth be told, the law only applies to “lead” or sanctioned prayer in schools. But it cannot stop what it never had any power to take away, personal prayer. And that is the true problem that we, as Christians, have to address. You have to ask yourself, if they lifted every law passed against prayer in schools will we have a mass flood of prayer warring, sold out youth lining the auditoriums and lunch halls or will we have unmoved Christian children untrained to communicate with “their” God going on with business as usual trying to fit in with the world? The true question is; are we teaching our children at home and even at church to live a lifestyle of prayer? The true problem is that we, the church body, have allowed the world to dictate our relationship with God and even use the laws of the land to justify our lack of proper relationship building/training in our children toward our Creator. God never told us to obey any law that is contrary to His Word.



Passage Daniel 6:5-11 NLT:
5 So they concluded, “Our only chance of finding grounds for accusing Daniel will be in connection with the rules of his religion.”

6 So the administrators and high officers went to the king and said, “Long live King Darius! 7 We are all in agreement—we administrators, officials, high officers, advisers, and governors—that the king should make a law that will be strictly enforced. Give orders that for the next thirty days any person who prays to anyone, divine or human—except to you, Your Majesty—will be thrown into the den of lions. 8 And now, Your Majesty, issue and sign this law so it cannot be changed, an official law of the Medes and Persians that cannot be revoked.” 9 So King Darius signed the law. 10 But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God. 11 Then the officials went together to Daniel’s house and found him praying and asking for God’s help.



When Daniel heard the news of the new law he didn’t even respond to them. He continued on as “he had always done” and prayed to his God. We, the church, have to get to the point where instead of complaining about what the world says we can’t do; we instead, continue to do what God says we should do. If you read further, God worked it out for Daniel in the end and He will do the same for us if we are faithful to Him. They can stop our children from forming a circle and praying out loud but they can never stop them from putting their hands together in their spirit and praying in their heart. But if we don’t instill those principles in them, that is the greater woe. Let’s focus on our children’s personal relationship and see what God will do. God Bless
