Only hymns should we resonate,
There is nothing else to debate.

However, there are others that say
Contemporary choruses are the way

No musical instruments are allowed
Judged un-appropriate by a certain crowd

Make music with keyboard, string and horn,
That’s the way to praise on Sunday morn.

Pastor proclaims this debate is wrong
For worship is more than a song

Worship comes from deep within,
More than words written by pen.

Worship is an obedient heart,
Not just harmony in three part.

Worship is voices lifted in praise.
Worship is demonstrated in other ways.

Worship is how we treat each other.
Is it pleasing to Christ our brother?

Worship is demonstrated in our giving.
Worship should be a way of living.

Worship is words and acts of adoration
From God’s children of every nation.

Let us not become worshipers divided,
But believers in praise united.
