The Encounter

I was down with oppression when my king visited me. He sent for me and called me from the house of Potipher. He called me by name and said - Are you there? but for doubt I asked saying - Lord could you be the one that called me? Then he answered and said - I am he. what are you doing there? I have opened rivers of living waters for you that you may know my name. Come out of your hiding place and let us have discussions that will determine your future. Come, let us reason together though your sins be as scarlet or as red as crimson I will make it as white as snow and white as wool.

I was as one oppressed, one battered, without comeliness and without shape then came he and took me out of the miry clay where there was no water. He enlarged my steps as he put me upon a rock where there was a fountain of living waters gushing forth. I remember him saying clearly - the victory belongs to God. Listen to my voice. I will make a way where there seems to be no way. I will make rivers in the desert and make ways in the wilderness. Let your heart follow me and your mind will obey.

I have said this day have I begotten you, you are made a priest after the order of Melchizedek forever and that I will give thee the sure mercies and I have given you the promise of the land flowing with milk and honey. Don`t let it enter into your head, rather put it to heart to love me and obey me; keep my commandments and you will live then you shall ask and it shall be given thee; You shall seek and you shall find; You shall knock and it shall be opened unto you. Let your mind be settled and know that I am he that searches you; I know the thoughts that pass through your mind, everyone of them. Love me today and you shall find rest for your soul.

Then said I to myself - surely on this day have I seen the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living and of his mercies have I received grace for grace.
