"Be still and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10
This Scripture commands more than the cessation of physical movement. It orders the deep silence of the soul before its Maker. In this stillness then can be heard: It is I; be not afraid. I will never leave you nor forsake you. Fear not, little flock, for it is the Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Come unto me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart and you shall find rest for your soul. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
But only in deep soul silence can we hear these lovely, comforting promises from our Father.
