PLUG INTO THE POWER SOURCE

GOD'S WORD IS POWER!!!

Power...have you ever meditated on this word?

I looked up the definition in Webster's and there were too many to list, but you can go to the dictionary for yourself and see what I mean.

Some people are power-driven, to gain control, for their own gratification. This type of power runs from the home, the work place, politics.... seems like everywhere you look someone wants to control something or someone. This is not the message of this article.
Let's look at it from a spiritual standpoint.

Let's do some comparison that hopefully will help someone.

We all have lamps in our homes so you will understand immediately the principle I am attempting to portray. You have the lamp and the bulb but if it is not plugged into the electrical socket there will be no power to put forth light. Even then, there is another step to take. The lamp is plugged into the power source but there is still no light until we turn or flip the switch; then we have the light we desired. When we do not need the light from the lamp we turn off the switch. The power source is still there available 24/7. Then when we need the light we turn/flip the switch.

Is this what we do with our Lord. We get saved (accept HIM as our saviour) and when we need HIM we turn/flip the switch on and then when we no longer feel we need HIM (until the next problem or crisis) we sometime have a tendency to flip/turn the switch off and we 'feel' we have no power in our lives to stand against satan and his works.

God's power is always there 24/7. We need to keep the "switch of faith" turned on at all times. Perhaps we can compare this to an appliance that has to be re-charged from time to time to regain the power needed to operate it. We need to re-charge our spiritual "batteries" daily by not just reading the Word but letting the power of the Word get into our hearts. Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. Have you ever noticed that when you get too busy to read and meditate God's word that things just don't seem to go right. You begin to wonder "what's wrong"...Is there something I need to do, to correct.... YES, GET BACK TO THE WORD OF GOD!!! God cannot flow through us to others if we don't have a full supply of HIM in us. I compare this also with the sponge that gets so filled with water that it just won't hold anymore, and then it has to be squeezed out so it can receive more. We have to do the same thing. Once we have ministered to others and drained ourselves we have to be "squeezed out" so there will be room for more input.

I heard someone say "THERE IS ENOUGH POWER IN THE WORD OF GOD TO BRING IT TO PASS"
