Woman O, Beloved of God!

Created by the Divine in His Divine image
Created to captivate and astonish
With the divine purpose to be the significant other to a man
Patterned after a divine God to be like Himself
To be powerful, faithful, gentle, loving, nurturing and courageous
The evil one hates you for you are the apple of the divine’s eye,
Your fall never defined your purpose, yes, you remained beloved.
Travelling through earth leaving distinct footprints called a woman’s touch.

I will tell tails of your redemption,
From the ruins of life
From a background stained with curses and sin
Where no one cared for you, dumped in a field and left to die, unwanted.
O! Rahab, Tamar, Naomi, and Samaritan Woman, how you would understand.
Judged by the world, looked down upon
You see, it was never your sins that God took cognisance of
It was the condition of your heart, it found favour with God.

I will sing songs of your restoration and blessings,
From what was barren, fruitless and hopeless
Disgrace and shame you felt, thought to be less of a woman
O! Sarah, Hannah and Elizabeth, how you would understand.
Your redeemer and God declared, “Where there is no way, I am the way!”
From a barren womb, a barren situation, you became mothers of great men.
Blessed is your womb, for it was chosen to demonstrate the Divine’s power.

I will tell tails of your courage,
How the wisdom of God chose you who was weak, to shame those who thought they were strong,
How God chose you who was powerless, to shame the powerful,
O! Esther from humble beginnings to becoming a queen
Raised and chosen to save your people from genocide and extinction.
O! Ruth your loyalty and faithfulness echoes in the hearts of women everywhere
To leave all you’ve ever known to keep a vow of love
To take refuge and shelter under the wings of a God you knew not,
Your faith became pleasing to the God of Israel like a smell of great perfume.
O! Mary, lowly servant girl and now generation after generation will call you most blessed.
Favoured among all other women, I can only imagine how it must have felt
To carry the Son of God, willing to obey and accept whatever the Lord wants without wavering.

Woman O Beloved of God,
Here comes your Husband, Your Saviour
You have become His bride
He has come to receive you, who was cursed and rejected.
He has come to carry your flaws, your mistakes, your broken heart.
You see, He is the wisdom of God,
To raise you who was downcasted, weak and shameful,
You who thought nothing good can ever come from you, You are all he desires.
You are His Rose of Sharon, His Lily of the Valley, His most prized possession.
You are His Holy Jerusalem, His Mount Zion,
He is so jealous for you; He wants you for Himself and not to share you with anything,
He wants to make you desirable and no longer God Forsaken.

Woman O Beloved of God,
Surely you can no longer continue being the unfaithful wife,
The rebellious bride and daughter,
Surely, it is important to remove yourself from all the contacts of the evil one,
Your Husband no longer wants to call you a shameless prostitute or an adulterous wife.
No more impure thoughts, no more lustful pleasure, no more envy or hostility!
No more of that, be satisfied, be content with all He is.
He will glorify you and all your wishes will be His command.
Remember that upon your acceptance of Him, you made a vow
To trust and love him only, in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy!

Woman O Beloved of God!
Your King has loved you with an everlasting love, that He gave up His life,
Nailed to the cross, it was His love for you that kept Him there.
He did this to bring you closer to Him,
Cleansing you by the washing with water through the word,
And to present you to Himself as a radiant bride,
Without stain or wrinkle, or any other blemish
But holy and blameless. . .
