Slaying Giants
Lord, I need to slay some giants;
by myself I can’t succeed.
A wall needs tearing down;
I’m too weak to do the deed.
Your grace is all-sufficient
and your power has no end.
If I’m to be your warrior,
proper armor you will send.
Should your will be that I conquer,
I can crush the enemy.
I need only you to face them,
and your strength for victory.
The walls I have to topple
will go down without a fight.
Your blaring holy trumpets
crumble all beneath your might.
All the battles in this life
are nothing I should fear;
I cannot be defeated
as long as you are near.
