Faith

Lord, all his life, I have beseeched you, on behalf of my child.
He was disobedient to us both; quite rebellious and runnin’ wild.
Before the day he was born, you granted to him countless gifts;
For encouragement of the masses and to give your name a lift.

He finely polished his many gifts, from the tender age of three.
It was unlike anything I had ever seen; in truth, mystified me.
At that time, I knew little, of preordination and Devine calling.
As he grew to manhood, he changed; far from you, he was falling.

Far too long he decided, to abuse the precious gifts you granted.
I know you remember the many passionate prayers that I chanted.
I have observed you shape him, through tempests over the years.
I held tight to my baby boy, through many doubts and warm tears.

I prayed daily for you to form him, into a true man of compliance.
I see you workin’ Lord, I take pleasure in this, our holy alliance.
What does one say, when a simple “thank you” just won’t do?
It feels right at this moment, to simply say “Lord, I love you”.

Lord, I know you’ve kept him safe, because you have a holy plan.
Though he was too long a child, he has morphed into a Godly man.
My humble thanks to you Father; you always grant me such joy.
I want to thank you for you Son, JESUS and for my own “BABY BOY”.
