In the welling up of springtime
when attraction is strong
and it seems the high tide
of sensuality will never ebb,
a subtle virtue , beautiful,
often blushes, uncovered
outside the jar

Those graced with fairness of face
do well to refuse the preening
catwalk of exploitation;
gross feline apparition
that cunningly hooks its talons
into the gift and sells its many charms

For were it to remain but skin deep;
should prettiness fail to submit
to Spirit's transforming well;
as raw material for enduring character
to be expressed as humility inside the jar;

it won't be long till
what once was a treasured sight,
is consumed by the locust
on a bare beach in wintertime
and all that's left
is a scarecrow smarter birds ignore

Choose rather plain my princess
enjoy it's rain
