While traveling late one night, I assisted a couple is distress. Their vehicle had left them stranded, so I took them home. As we drove, I took advantage of my captive audience and made sure they knew it was God's love that extended help to them on that cold dark night.

They operated a little country Nursery. So to express their gratitude they gave me a little Ivy plant, which I tied to a pole on the deck with a ribbon only.

A few months later came a great windstorm. Many homes were left without power for several days. Trees were uprooted and branches thrown. The deck was filled with debris. But the little Ivy tied only by a ribbon -- did not move.

Oh how great is His might and yet how great is His gentleness. The Lord honors our good deeds in His name. We ought to see ourselves as the little Ivy in the midst of our trials and know that the Lord can keep us safe through any storm.

No matter how fragile we feel, no matter how strong the wind howls and the sea roars. Just trust in Him and He will see us through.
