I planted a seashell in my garden
In the hopes of seeing you
That some day, on a very bright day,
You might be passing through.

The seahorse came,
And plankton,
The jellyfish came too

And the tide rolled in
then rolled back out
Without a sign of you.

The garden is all gone now
As are my dreams of you,
for not one time,
On any bright day
Did the ocean send me you.
