Prayer for lost children

Down on my knees, I dropped to the floor.
My heart is in pain, I can't take anymore.

"Please find my child, dear Lord I pray.
Send a guardian angel, to help find his way.

When You find him quickly bring him to me.
Hold him close to Your heart, then set him free."

God filled me with love to give away.
And gave me hope for another day.

We don't miss things until they are lost.
Then want them back, whatever the cost.

The door slowly opened, a small hand in sight.
"Come in my darling, step out of the night."

His clothes were all ragged, his eyes full of fear.
This is the boy that I hold so dear.

I hugged him and gave him the love in my heart.
Assuring him nothing would keep us apart.

I'll forever be thankful to our Lord above.
For bringing him home and showing him love.

"For children whose hearts are lost and afraid.
Should be nurtured by God," for this we have prayed.
