Leadership
Spiritual Leadership: Is It A Dinosaur?
From John’s Gospel and Paul’s Letter to the Romans, we find two causes for the lack of spiritual leadership in the church of the 21st century. First, Jesus calls His sheep by name, and leads them out (John 10:3). Immediately, this becomes an impossible task for a pastor of a large congregation. There aren’t enough hours in a day or days in a week to meet the individual needs of their congregants. And unless a member has a specific need requiring the pastor’s guidance, that pastor may never learn the names of his or her “sheep”, let alone feel concern for their needs or equip them with the courage to move from the confines of the church property into the world.
Second, in Paul’s letter to the Romans, discussing spiritual gifts, Paul says that leadership is effective if it is done diligently. Here again, the church of the 21st century is in a speedy downhill slide. With the scandals of televangelism, and spiritual leaders who feel it’s acceptable to take advantage of church members, it’s anyone’s guess if they’ve taken the time to study Paul’s words to the Romans. Thus, the lack of spiritual leadership has become problematic. However, it’s the responsibility of the congregation to hold the leadership accountable for their behavior.
A spirit of apathy has no place within the hearts or the minds of the congregation or its leadership. Romans 12:10-11 sum up what I believe spiritual leadership requires devotion to one another; honoring another before self, zeal, and keeping spiritual fervor on serving Him. Is a spirit of apathy blanketing your congregation? Without any of the aforementioned elements, there is no true leadership, and if there’s no true leadership, then where’s the fellowship within a congregation?

remember Every Christian has to start somewhere ... we all flock and join the church's we feel most comfortable in and where there is acceptance, hopefully
lead of His Holy Spirit! Then we are to grow up and walk our path's despite everything! Jesus says
His sheep hear His voice and a stranger's voice they will not follow. These mega church's will never take the place of a personal intimate relationship with Jesus that is more important than the so called church scene.
