THE TARES AMONG THE WHEAT

Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43
This parable concerns “the kingdom of heaven” on earth – the church (not in heaven yet, but) on earth before the final separation of saints and sinners on the great judgment day. In the church today, the tares are among workers and leaders, God knows them. When they preach or pray in public, people marvel at their fervency: when they sing in the choir or render ‘solos’ they are like angels, yet, they are not free from their iniquity.

THE SON AND THE GOOD SEED
Matthew 13: 24, 27, 36-38; Acts 2:47; 15:13-17; 1Corinthians 3:6-9; 12:12, 18; 2Corinthians 5:17-21
Jesus Christ, our Saviour, is the Sower of the good seed, the Builder of His church. He saves, cleanses and places every true believer in His kingdom. The good seed, the children of the kingdom (Matthew 13:38) are planted by father through Him. Jesus came to this world on purpose to sow the kingdom of heaven in it. All the grace, and truth and spiritual life among are of His sowing.
2. THE SERVANTS AND THEIR SLEEP
Matthew 13:25-29; Isaiah 56:10; 1Samuel 26:7-16; Matthew 26:40-47; Romans 13:11; 1Thessalonians 5:6; Mark 13:33-37
Great mischief is often done to the church “while the men sleep”, while servant of Christ sleep and stop watching over the field of good seed. Christ’s servants sleep too often, we indulge in sinful sloth, refusing to constantly watch and drive away trespassers – enemies of the kingdom. Saints and servants in the church should resist the spirit of slumber; we must keep awake and watch.
3. SATAN AND HIS STRATEGY
Matthew 13:25-28, 38-39; Exodus 12:37-38; Joshua 9:3-16; 1Samuel 18:17-22; Ezra 4:1-5’ Isaiah 39:1-6; Matthew 7:15; Acts 20:28-31; 2Peter 2:1-3
In their early stages the tares so closely resembled the wheat that it was impossible to distinguish the one from the other. When both had headed out it was easy to distinguish them; but by their time, their roots were so intertwined that the tares could not be weeded without tearing out the wheat out with them. Satan’s strategy is to plant the counterfeit brethren among the original. He does it quietly, cunningly, without observation. The malicious devil sows the counterfeit and departs to do the like elsewhere.
It is hard to distinguish those who are in the kingdom and those who are not. Judgment must wait until the end. A man may live by God’s grace, an honourable life for some time and then in the end wreck it by sudden collapse into sin. No one who sees only part of a thing can judge the whole and no man who knows only see part of a man’s life can judge the whole man.

4. SAINTS’ SEPARATION FROM THE SINNERS
Matthew 13:30; 39-43; 15:13-14; 25:31-34, 41, 46; Revelation 20:11-15; 21:8
We may remove the openly wicked from the fellowship, but the outwardly good who are inwardly worthless we must leave in the hands of God who knows all hearts.
For the false wheat there will be burning in bundles; for the true, ingathering into the Lord’s own storehouse. Sooner or later, all that offend and do iniquity will be cast into the eternal lake of fire where there shall be everlasting punishment and unending suffering.

Friend, before God weed off the mix from His vineyard, find out where you belong!
