On That Starry Night 11/25/08

In the crisp dark night
A new babe lay,
Upon a pile
Of covered hay.

The King of kings
Had now been born,
Though on His head
No crown was worn.

He'd come to save
His people dear,
In the process
Shed many tears.

This babe was special,
The star foretold,
As He was lying
In the fold.

The lowly were
The first to know,
And to His side
Quickly go.

God would have it
No other way.
The meek were the first
As it is today.

The humble come,
Not the proud,
For they will sing,
"Lord!" out loud.

Remember ye all
Bethlehem,
The Savior was born
For us and them.
