I can’t evade what I’ve made-
my own darkness seems to raid.
Knowing You ‘till I’m blue,
yet the true seems to fade.

What I want-what I do.
One’s of flesh and one’s of You.
Claim the Name-take the aim.
Then I’m left in the blue.

Seeks to hold me
and keep me from the One who holds my breath.
I am locked in
and brings about in me a spiritual death.

It's still remains-like my skin.
Takes away the light I’ve gained.
But I wait-to end this fate
called by a higher Name.

Seeks to hold me

It still follows
It seeks my soul as its plunder.
If not for You,
I am sure that I’d go under.

"For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin. For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good. But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.
