Israel’s God-sent prophets tell
Of Messiah’s glorious reign,
When in the land of Israel
The Lord of Glory dwells again;
When God is known by everyone
From the littlest to the great;
A promised day yet to come,
For which the faithful watch and wait.

For when to Bethlehem He came,
It was as Micah had foretold---
A city which was least by name
Became the birthplace of the Lord.
That He would be a virgin’s child,
That He would be Immanuel,
Isaiah clearly prophesied---
The Lord would come to Israel.

The nation didn’t recognize
The prophets’ words in Him fulfilled---
Messiah came---He lived and died,
He rose---Israel’s waiting still;
The Word of truth was hid from those
Who were not watching for The Lord---
To them traditions mattered most,
Neglecting all the prophets’ words.

Throughout this age Messiah reigns
In the hearts of His ransomed ones;
To Israel He’ll return again
When the “gentile’s fullness” comes;
They’ll look on Him who died for them
They’ll mourn and weep as for a son;
They’ll know their true Messiah then,
Jesus Christ, God’s anointed One.

When Jesus reigns on David’s throne
Jerusalem will live in peace---
He, who was their stumbling stone,
Causes Israel’s woes to cease.
Then “peace on earth, good will to men”
Find their fulfillment in God’s Son---
“Thy Kingdom come” is answered then---
The Millennial Kingdom comes!!
