In the beginning Jesus was there
In the beginning Jesus was God

Jesus was there in the beginning with God

All things were made through Jesus
Nothing was made without Him

In Jesus was life, and the life was the light of man

The light shines in the darkness
Darkness did not overcome the light.


Jesus has always been there, even from the beginning of time. He was with God, because He is God. All things were created through Him. Nothing was made without Him. In Jesus there is life. The life He has is the light of man, to show us the way we should go.

Where there is darkness, there is light that can break through it. Darkness is never able to overtake light. There is a scene in the movie 'Finding Nemo', where two fish, Dorey and Marlin are in the deepest parts of the ocean. They are talking to one another but we cannot see them and they cannot see each other. All of the sudden this little dim light from another fish begins to illuminate the area, growing brighter and brighter by the second, until the entire area becomes visible.

This is a good picture to me of how it is the instant we call out to God for His help and we begin our Christian journey. When we first cry out to God, the light shines dimly because we do not know what to expect. When we becomes Christians, the stronger we grow in our faith, the more the light shines. It can get so bright that others can actually notice it. They can see Jesus in us through our actions and our lifestyle.

Whenever we have struggles, if we give Jesus the chance to live through us, His light can shine in our darkest hour. There will always be struggles, but if we let it, the light of Jesus will always be there to show us the way through it, and He will be there every step of the way.

Always remember that Jesus has always been there, since the beginning of time. We just don't notice Him until we cry out from our deep, dark ocean. His dim light then begins to shine brighter with each passing day we grow in our Christian faith. Jesus is God. His light can break through the evil that anchors us to the ocean floor. Evil can never overcome His light in us. Accept God's free gift of salvation and you will see the light.
