True Survivors

The survivor show on an island, was quite a trip,
All matching skills after being dropped from a ship,
Big brother houseguests, another show,
Imprisioned in a house with nowhere to go.
Using their talents and strength to survive,
They one and all competed for the coveted prize.
People with MS or another disease disabling disease,
Face challenges we seldom choose to see.
Imprisioned in bodies that change day by day,
Dreading any setbacks that can ruin one's day,
Their survivor skills are tested in every way.
Few outside, understand the price they pay.
The coveted prize they look forward to,
Some medical miracle, called a breakthough.
The entertainment shows were for a limited time,
For those afflicted with a disease, a lifetime.
Fatique, spasms, finacial woes are faced each day
Challenged by the losses, often endured today.
So herald the trumpets, bring on the drums,
For the True Survivors, let's not be so ho-hum.
