Some in the faith are cowering in fear, wondering what tomorrow holds. Some are frantic, thrown into confusion by the economic chaos of the nation, the closure of banks, the rumors of bail outs. Others are perplexed by the quickly-approaching election, and the flaws of candidates in both camps.

Uncertainty is everywhere – everywhere but in You Lord. You are the anchor of the soul during turbulent storms. You are the one that we must run to for safety. You make sense of the tumultuous situations all around us.

Our hope is not in Wall Street, or Washington D.C., or any nation’s leader. It is not in the dollar, the pound, the euro or yen. Our hope lies squarely on the shoulders of the Christ of Calvary – the same one that lifted his cross and carried it, and hung on it – to set us free.

Remember, my brothers; forget not, my sisters: our help comes from the Lord!
