As Christians we have to realize that the storms of life will come, we will all face disturbing circumstances, but how we handle them will determine what happens to us as we go through them.

Matthew 8:26 says, And Jesus answered, "Why are you so afraid? You have so little faith! Then he stood up and rebuked the the wind and waves , and suddenly all was calm.
The disciples were afraid, theirs was a physical storm, but storms come in many forms. If Jesus is in your boat you have nothing to be afraid of. Fear not, despite your circumstances. You may be feeling all alone and have no way to turn, turn to Him, if you believe and obey him, he will see you through. He says to call upon him and he will hear and answer. He will save you, strengthen you, uphold, you deliver you, heal you, provide for you..

Matthew 7:24-25 says that anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the flood waters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won't collapse because it is built on bedrock.
As we obey God it becomes the foundation so that we are able to weather the storms that arise in our lives. If you want God to take care of your troubles, then you must let Him be your priority. God honors those who honor Him. If you're facing problems, stop whining and screaming and begging Him to save you from them. Honor Him by going to His Word and doing what He says to do, let Him come in and take over. When you do that, all of heaven will get involved in your life and you will be set free, you will have victory

Your loved one might be sick or your child is in trouble, your spouse has walked out on you, you are in a financial storm, every thing possible seems to be going wrong for you, troubles are on all sides, burden down. But whatever your storms you can withstand them. Don't be afraid my friend you have life and where there is life there is hope, whatever it is that you need Him to do for you, He can do it, he is the storm calmer
He will calm every fiery situation and storm in your life. Don't be overwhelmed, don't be discouraged. He will make a way where there seems to be no way. He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, He will do it just for you, yes there is light at the end of the storm just like it was for me.

A storm arose in my life a few years after my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, I became caught up with the demands of caregiving thinking that my mother was going to get better, little did I know that I was misinformed. As the pressures of caregiving increased I found myself letting go of my former life including my relationship with God. As a result depression set in which brought with it hopelessness and a lack of enthusiasm and I found myself having little energy for doing even the simple things. I began to get sick, because depression tends to suppress the immune system it made me susceptible to illnesses. I began to escape into a world of daydreams when things became too much to handle. At times I even felt like running away, this continued for a while until one day when the need arose to calm another storm that came by, I found myself like Samson not having the ability to whip the enemy.

That was a wake up call for me, I found that I was weak and helpless and the sad part of it was I did not realize where I was in my relationship with God. I soon began to realize that I was walking in disobedience to God, I was not obeying the word , actually I was hardly finding the time to read the word and pray during that period, I had gotten off the track and gotten lost. As I began to cry out to God and repent and got back into the word and prayer, things began to change within me and also in my role as caregiver.God began to work things out for my good., I became a happy camper and was able to take care of my mother until she passed away.

Many times the devil uses the storms to take us off course, to disrupt our lives because he knows that we have purpose and destiny, but our job is to continually abide in the Lord. If we abide in him we will bear much fruit, apart from him we can do nothing. When I stopped abiding in the Lord I found myself not being able to do things for God. Walking in disobedience is costly to us and even to those around us. By staying close to God we will walk in the path he has chosen.

Storms are nothing new, knowing that may not make your storm any easier to handle but maybe knowing that God understands will help. He knows you are tired, He knows you are frustrated and He also know you are wondering day after day how you will keep going. If you will turn to God in the midst of your storm ,He will meet you where you are and turn your pain into peace.
