When your thoughts go all askew
And you cannot seem to pray,
Many things running 'round inside your head,
When you don't know what to do
That will change this fruitless way,
Pick the Bible up, read the Word instead.

There's wealth in Scripture's pages
For the children of The Lord,
To keep us all uplifted on our way---
The wisdom of the ages
Given by the mouth of God,
To comfort and console us every day.

It's perfect for instruction,
For discerning right from wrong;
God's will for us is everywhere explained;
A warning 'gainst seduction,
A great manual of song,
The truth by which the godly man is trained.

When lacking understanding
Seek the wisdom from above,
Which God will amply give to those who ask;
In life, now so demanding,
It's the message of His love;
Praise The Lord!! It's sufficient for the task.

God's Spirit will direct us
When we follow as He leads,
Conforming us in everything to Christ;
He, one day will perfect us,
Whose provision far exceeds
Our greatest expectations in this life.

Oh, how easy 'tis to pray
When His Word has come alive!!
It's simply the outpouring of the soul;
I know of no better way
For your heart to be revived,
Than Christ, by Word and Spirit being extolled!!
