"When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked the disciples,
"Who do men say that I, the Son of man, am? They answered, "Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Simon Peter answered, You are Christ, the Son of the living God." Matthew 16:13-15

The question was general at first, but becomes very specific and personal. And so it is with us. We cannot hide behind generalities or groups or congregations. It is a very personal question and must be answered, one on One, by every person. It comes down to Jesus and you. Sitting in a pew every Sunday just won't get it. It won't rub off or spill over on everyone. He is asking each of us this very personal question, "Who do you say that I am?

If the answer is, as Peter's was, "You are the Son of God," that's a beginning. But then it follows, as night the day, that your life has to say it also by obedience to His will. When you are certain of who He is, then you become certain of who you ought to be. The question cannot be answered generally. It is very personal.
