I am searching, but I cannot see.
Undeniably, I am so weak.
Every time I think I have moved forward,
I get knocked twelve steps behind.
How much longer ‘til this captive is set free?

Lord, I’m holding out for You
(The Lord is my shepherd and I shall not want)
Lord, I’m reaching out to You
(for He makes me to lie down in green pastures)
Down on my knees, Lord, I’m praying to You
(and He Leads me beside still waters.)
Lord, You restoreth my soul.
(He restoreth my soul and He)
Lord, without You, I am not whole
(Leads me in paths of righteousness)
Lord, I will surely worship You
(Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me)
All of the days of my life, I shall spend
(All of the days of my life, and I shall dwell)
Seeking You, trusting You
(in the house of the Lord forever)

I lie down, but I cannot sleep. I toss and I turn.
Uncontrollably, I begin to weep.
My chest hurts from all the screams that have not been released.
Lord, I need Your mercy, I need Your peace.
How much longer ‘til I see this life’s purpose You have for me?
