There is nothing like slipping into a nice crisp, freshly washed pair of your favorite jeans. The ones that fit you just right. Uh-huh, life is good.
But as the day wears on, your jeans start to relax and may even get baggy or saggy. They are no longer shaped like you, no longer “conformed to your image”, so to speak.
That is how our faith gets when we are not in the word and fellowship regularly. Our faith gets baggy and saggy. God wants us to be conformed to His image. To understand His ways and walk in them. God wants our minds to be transformed by washing with the word, so that just like freshly washed jeans, it fits just right again.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” Romans 12:12
