GOD SPOKE

God spoke and God's glory was revealed.
God spoke and out of nothingness came energy:
whirling, violent, chaotic.
God spoke and out of chaos came order,
laws to govern the physical and spiritual realms.
God spoke and the universe came into being;
the planets and stars took their place.
God spoke and life was formed:
exquisite, abundant, blessed by God.
God spoke and we became God's children,
created in the image of our Creator;
created for fellowship and relationship.
God spoke and established a covenant
of hope and salvation between God and us.
God spoke but we did not always listen,
preferring glamour over Glory,
pride over Praise, lust over Love.
God spoke and God's Word became flesh,
fully human, yet fully God,
bringing us grace and truth.
God spoke, but we continued to ignore God's Word,
preferring greed over Grace,
self-righteousness over Salvation,
fanaticism over Forgivness.

God spoke and the Word became silent
as He took upon Himself
all our ugly, vile hatreds
destroying God's creation.

For two days there was silence. . .

God no longer spoke. . .

On the third day, GOD SPOKE,
and God's glory was revealed.
Heaven and earth rejoice
for God speaks through eternity:

"For my Word will not fail.
It will not return to Me empty,
but will succeed in everything
I send it to do.
For the grass withers and flowers fade,
but My Word endures forever."

For the grass withers and flowers fade, How we would live if He wasn't always there, never changing! I really enjoyed your poem!
