THE LORD IS MY LIGHT AND MY SALVATION

The Lord is my Light and my Salvation
Whom then shall I fear
No darkness now to be an encumbrance
For Jesus my Lord is near
I do not walk alone down here
But have a Friend named Jesus
By His Spirit He lives within
I do just what He pleases

So glad to surrender all I am
Or ever hope to be
And place my life into His hands
Who shed His blood for me
The world can't see Who lives inside
But will know it in a measure
If I will live for Christ alone
And share with them this treasure

An earthen vessel divinely filled
Your Presence dually felt
Received by faith when I believed
At the throne of Grace I knelt
There to receive His gift of Grace
For my believing heart
And take His Mercy along as well
And let it do its part

How merciful to me a sinner
You my God have been
Help me show some of that mercy
To an unbelieving friend
Never let one day go bye
But that I speak of Thee
And give Thee Glory my God above
For what Thou hast done for me.
