that homeless guy,
sittin' under the
highway. Yeah,

moments, Lord."

Where's HIS purpose
driven LIFE?
HUH?"

[PATIENT SILENCE.]

"It's ain't PRETTY, Lord.....
IS it?"

"No, My child."

"Yeah....well...
I guess HE
couldn't afford that
BOOK, huh?"

"Which book,
My beloved."

"Ya KNOW: that one
about the purpose driven
la chai'm*."

[SMILE!]

"Ya know what I
THINK, Lord?
(Smile!)
I think that guy wrote
a BOOK - and, made
a lotta MONEY!"

"Do you believe it,
little one?"

(Cynical shrug.)
"I think that for some
people, it WORKS. If
it works for them:

[CHUCKLE!]
"Ah!
I see!"

"Yeah!

simple, Lord!
(Squint.)
All this PURPOSE stuff!"

child?"

"Well.......for example,
what's that HOMELESS
guy's PURPOSE?
The one sittin' under
I10, in San ANTONIO?"

[SILENCE.]

"Can Ya tell me THAT?"

[SILENCE.]

"That's alright, Lord.
You don't gotta tell
me, anything.
After all, I'm just
a little ant.
WHO AM I,
anyway?"

"My child,
little one."

"YEAH?
So, where's
MY PURPOSE?
HUH?
When 'Ya gonna
tell me THAT?"

[LONG PAUSE.]
"I just did, child.
I just did."

of the earth,
