A while ago, someone referred to me as an intercessor. In Hebrews 7:25 (NIV), it is written, “Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.” I was of the sinful (human) nature but because I came to God through baptism into the death and the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, I am now of Christ, and He intercedes with God on my behalf. Jesus Christ the Lord is the true intercessor.
I can make intercession to God through Jesus Christ because Christ is God. But, I am not the Lord and I cannot save anyone's soul. Fortunately, I do know Jesus Christ the Lord the One who can save, and I am His witness. And so, in the words of one of my brothers, namely the apostle Paul in Acts 22:16 (NIV), “And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his [Jesus Christ’s] name.”
