Some “religions” (many can only be called cults) do that. Their ideas and interpretations of what God says are so far removed from the King James Bible they are laughable, ludicrous.

One organization with millions of members worldwide infers that if you’re not one of them you won’t be saved.

According to them and their “teachings” there is no real lake of fire, no hell with torment as Jesus described, it’s just symbolic. The Holy Spirit is not a person but a thing, though Jesus clearly refers to the Holy Spirit as “he.” (John 14:17) On and on it goes, distorting and watering down the great truths of the KJV.

Such people rewrite the Bible to produce their own written versions of what they call truth. Usually it originated with one man’s biblical interpretation. He then started a “movement.” As time passes, millions are misled and the great truths of the Gospel are ignored, glossed over or explained away.

There is elaborate and carefully thought out reasoning for their deviation. “The Bible doesn’t mean that, it means this” even though the verse is in English a ten-year-old would understand. They say: “If you translate the word from the Greek (or whatever), it doesn’t really mean what you read there.” Beautifully printed literature backs up their views. It all looks very convincing.

They will surely pay a high price on Judgment Day because the Bible which is the Bible which is the Bible says in 2 Timothy 4:4 “and they will turn away their ears from the truth, and be turned away to fables.”

A true Christian will preach Christ and the gospel, but some organizations seem to have the goal of merely preaching and promoting their own doctrines. Could it be the motivation is more members and thereby increased revenue?

If a person is new in Christ and relocates to another town, a genuine Christian pastor will usually say: “Visit a few churches where Christ is foremost, worship wherever you feel happy.” Not so with the cults: “You must join us, there’s no other way.” Signing on with them is the way to heaven, they would have us believe.

Beware. As far as this writer is concerned, there is only one Holy Bible - the King James version of it. The New King James is very close. Take them as truth. No cult will preach Christ and Him crucified, risen from the dead, the only way to God. That is the test.

There are other non-cult versions of the Bible read by Christians. Are the extra versions really necessary?
