"God is dead"---the headline said,
"Shake the shakles off your mind,
We are free as we should be
To live life as we're inclined"

It's not those who've never heard
The good news of faith in Christ
Who're glad to hear---"God is dead"
But those who live in gospel light.

In lands where God's truth was taught,
Where the good news seed was sown,
New "gods" are now so keenly sought;
Mostly tares and weeds have grown.

Thriving briars and thorns abound;
The golden calf of lust's enthroned;
Truth is trampled on the ground;
Evil infiltrates our homes.

False apostles multiply;
The Word is fashioned to "felt needs
