Cheerio...
a cheery good-bye or hello...
that is not what I meant, NO!

I mean the cereal, silly...
is what my little guy would say...
on any other average day!

OK, that is enough with all this rhyming stuff!

So here is my thought! Every day we do things without thinking twice. Things that need to be done daily to make life easier. Sometimes it is in those daily mundane activities that God opens your hearts to a little nugget of truth. Here is where the cheerios fit in...

My son is two years old and not quite sure how to ask for what he wants without throwing tantrums. We are working on this, but in the mean time, he still cries when he wants something. Let's take cheerios for an example. When Ryan wakes up in the morning, the first thing that he does is go in to the kitchen and ask (or cry) for something to eat. I will get a bowl, pour him some cheerios, add some milk and he is a happy camper.

As a mom, I want to make sure that my kids have everything they need to be physically cared for. In the same respect, I also need to make sure that I am showing my kids how to be spiritually cared for by relying on God. If we take the time to make sure that we pray, thanking God for providing for us, our kids will learn from habit that this is what we need to do. This is what God requires of us to keep open our lines of communication.

Recently, I have been getting so caught up in worrying about what God wants to do though me five years from now that I don't see what he is already doing. If God were to ask me, "Is it good enough that the only thing you accomplish
in this life is to pave a path for your children's faith?" What would my answer be?

It would be, "Yes, God! I am okay knowing that my purpose is to make a difference in my kids' lives." I believe that just by recognizing this, God is already blessing me, my family, and even future generations thus making a difference in the world.

It even says in His word in Exodus 20:6 "but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

So the next time you think about how you are making a difference in the world, think of the little things you do on a daily basis to show someone God's love. You don't have to be a famous person to make a difference.

I realize that I am making a difference today...
