We live in a world where criticism surrounds us. It is like the world is saying “You aren’t GOOD enough” but we are. We all are. We are more than our deformities. It is like we compare ourselves to an imaginary line where perfection rests but no one actually attains. The perfect Christian, the perfect lover, the perfect house, the perfect job, the list can go on.
I always tried to be perfect and although it is hard for me to admit my find of perfection drove me to the point that one time as a freshman I spent about an hour looking at myself making sure I looked “perfect”. But who are these perfect people? No one… not one has been perfect except Jesus by the world’s impossible standards, not even since the beginning of time.
So should we still strive to perfection when in fact it does not exist? The answer is mostly ideally no. In fact when you strive for perfection you make the faults even worse it is like getting a stain out that won't remove itself and then making that stain bigger.
We see sin as imperfections and its true but God doesn’t love us because we are perfect people He knows we will fall and He still loves us. God wants us to love our selves through the weaknesses and love others through theirs.
“Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the LORD delivers him in times of trouble” Psalm 41:1
Let the Spirit take control and cover you in your weakness. God says when you are weak He is strong and the body is weak but the Spirit is willing. Understand that we will all fail and don’t feel bad and guilty for problems but repent and turn to Him the maker and lover of our souls.
We all struggle a lot with things. Although I myself am imperfect Gods spirit makes me shine. The Holy Spirit will give us comfort and an understanding that everything will be okay.
Don’t let the world tell you who you are let your heart and Gods guidance tell you who you are and what you like doing. My head says I am a horrible writer but my heart tells me to write and write and write. Sometimes I don’t want to stop writing. Your heart knows what your mind can not understand. I pray that you all will come to understand what you love to do for this is the calling that the Lord has called you. Much much love in Christ!
