I reached out to catch a falling star
It winked and skipped, then landed afar
I woke and showered in the dawning rain
I danced and laughed – no more in pain

I walked along in barefoot bliss
Morning raindrops wildflowers kissed
I marveled at the rainbow sky
Iridescent colors filled my eye

A garden rare boasted jewels of worth
Then I realized - this wasn’t earth!
Why, I’m in heaven! I heard myself say
As if in amazement of this new day

Ahead I could see the streets so bright
As golden rays of glistening light
Beautiful mansions stood on every hill
For those who had done the Father’s will.

Angelic worship and singing I could hear
In an aura of love – the Lord was near!
What to say? How should I greet Him?
I’ve yearned for the day when I’d meet Him!

Then there He was standing in front of me
I could only bow down on bended knee
To finally know Him, in all His glory
Home at last…home at last! End of story…
