The nation of Israel and its significance in our world today.Israel is known as the "...apple of God's eye..."Zech.2:8.Yet many do not realize this fact.Many have tried to eradicate Israel from off the globe.First and foremost,why is Israel hated so much and fought over?Why have the Jews been so persecuted?These questions in themselves could take hours to answer them each.However,since I do not have hours,let us just look at who these gracious and loving people are.
The Jewish people are near and dear to the heart of God.One may ask,"What does that have to do with it,"it has everything to do with all the heartaches that Israel and her people have experienced.God,Jehovah called Abram out of the land of his birth,Ur of the Chaldees.God was going to use this man to start the whole process going.God made a promise to Abram-later changed by God to Abraham.In Gen.12:7 God says,"...Unto thy seed will I give this land..."a land that God was going to show to him,however he had to go out in faith-{Heb.11:8-9}-and believing that God would lead him.God also declared in His Word in Gen.12:3-4"And I will make of thee a great nation,and I will bless thee,and make thy name great,and thou shalt be a blessing.And I will bless them that bless you,and curse him that curseth thee:and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed."This is both a blessing and a cursing,take heed people,he that touches Israel,whether you do evil or good,it will come back around to you.One example is Hitler.I will not mention all the horrific acts that he did,however when he killed himself,he asked his people to burn his body.What occurred to him,he did to literally millions.
